Democratic debate: It's Hillary Clinton who can win and govern, not Bernie Sanders

My role in representing the left on Fox News can sometimes feel like David versus Goliath, but in heels.
It’s always welcome when I get a tweet or two that doesn’t involve “#Dumbacrat” and it’s especially heartening when one of two things happen: a conservative reaches out to let me know that I’ve let a little liberal light into their lives, or when fellow liberals are watching Fox because they know that without understanding the other side we will collectively get nowhere.
But the reality is that as clear a divide as exists between left and right, there is an equal schism within the left amongst those vying for the Democrat nomination.
That is precisely what we saw on stage in South Carolina Sunday night.
Fundamentally, the question is do we see a visionary or absurdist in Bernie Sanders? And do we see an experienced leader or sell-out in Hillary Clinton?
In a widely praised final State of the Union address, President Obama discussed his primary regret as being that he was unable to fix the partisanship that has been plaguing Washington. This theme was echoed in Republican South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s rebuttal. It’s clear that both sides see partisanship as a serious issue that is holding our nation back.
And this is ultimately the reason why a political revolution won’t save us – from the left or the right. The system just isn’t built that way.
No one challenges Bernie Sanders’s authenticity, but there is a very real challenge in getting a candidate elected whose vision is so extreme.
Single payer health care – a policy that Hillary Clinton has long championed herself – could not even get passed with a Democratically-controlled House and Senate and a strong Democrat in the White House. The unabashed demonization of the financial services and pharmaceutical industries alienates key drivers of the American economy. Tuition free college sounds amazing – especially as someone who spent way too long in graduate school – but even with a plan to pay for it through raising taxes, it’s a fantasy.
Bernie’s vision is compelling. On Sunday night he showed his usual passion and ability to evolve: he has modified his position and now thinks that gun manufacturers can be held responsible in certain cases and he clearly takes the threat of ISIS seriously, something that has been questioned in the past.
But a compelling vision doesn’t necessarily translate into success in governing a divided populace.
This is where Hillary’s strength lies.
She offers the feasible version of Bernie’s political revolution. We should build on the Affordable Care Act, not replace it. We should be dedicated to making higher education more affordable and accessible, but not promising schemes that will never be turned into law. And she leads her Iran policy with the maxim “distrust but verify,” an embodiment of her muscular approach to foreign policy.
I return to the ACA to most clearly show why Hillary is the one who understands the liberal agenda and how to get things done. On stage in Charleston Sunday night, she recognized that we accomplished a historic milestone for social progress and the imprudence of scrapping it with a hostile congress and a country that is fatigued of the issue. The answer to this isn’t “single payer or bust.” To Bernie that doesn’t seem to matter. And that’s where Bernie’s political revolution fails us.
Pragmatism doesn’t mean that there isn’t boldness and a big heart in her own vision. When she spoke of a lifetime of public service fighting for women’s equality, children and a better life for the middle class she means it. And her record shows that.
So the answer to the question of whether Hillary is a pragmatist or a sell out is that she’s a woman who understands that the prospects for improving the lives of everyday Americans hinges on the ability to champion solutions that those on the right will at least consider.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love Bernie Sanders’s vision for America. But that isn’t the issue. The issue is who can we nominate that can win an election andgovern in a way that makes progress certain, albeit slow. #ImWithHer.

Donald Trump has launched anew ad for television CUT OFF THE HEAD OF ISIS.
Islamic State
by CHARLIE SPIERING4 Jan 2016142
Donald Trump has launched anew ad for television highlighting his controversial campaign as he charges into the new year.
“He’s calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslims entering the United States, until we can figure out what’s going on,” a narrator explains in the 30 second TV spot, titled “Great Again.”
“He’ll quickly cut the head off ISIS and take their oil. And he’ll stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our southern border that Mexico will pay for.”
The ad also criticizes Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for failing to address the threat posed by radical Islamic terrorism.
On Sunday, Trump dismissed his need for ads, but argued that he wanted to do them anyway.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I think I’m probably wasting the money,” he said on an interview with CBS’s Face The Nation. “But I’m $35 million under budget. Look, I was going to have 35 or 40 million spent by now. I haven’t spent anything. I almost feel guilty. I think if you want to know the truth, I’m doing the ads. I’m leading by, as you all say, a lot.”

Texas Governor Challenges Obama on Gun Control: ‘Come and Take It’

On New Year’s Day, Texas Governor Greg Abbott had a strong message for President Obama regarding his upcoming plan to unilaterally enact gun control legislation: “Come and take it.”

“Obama wants to impose more gun control,” Abbott tweeted Friday. “My response? COME & TAKE IT.”
The Republican governor’s statement comes amid announcements the Obama administration will act later this month to impose stricter rules on the selling and purchase of firearms.
The president will meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch Monday to discuss what actions can be taken to circumvent the Second Amendment without congressional authorization, theWashington Post reports.
The new rules will reportedly seek torequire private sellers to conduct background checks, as well as prevent people on the no-fly list from being able to purchase firearms.
Meanwhile, Governor Abbott has made a strong show of support for Texans’ Second Amendment rights.
On Friday a new law came into effect allowing licensed citizens of the Lone Star State to openly carry holstered pistols.

The phrase “come and take it” was emblazoned on a flag flown by Texian forces during the Texas Revolution, chiefly at the battle of Gonzales, where Texian rebels revolted against the Mexican army and challenged them to retrieve a cannon loaned to them for protection.

Obama, "I'm Fired Up!"
Vacation over, Obama looking at ways to reduce gun violence
hosted.ap.org
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Hawaiian vacation over, President Barack Obama says he is energized for his final year in office and ready to tackle unfinished business, turning immediate attention to the issue of gun violence.
Obama scheduled a meeting Monday with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to discuss a three-month review of what steps he could take to help reduce gun violence. The president is expected to use executive action to strengthen background checks required for gun purchases.
Republicans strongly oppose any moves Obama may make, and legal fights seem likely over what critics would view as infringing on their Second Amendment rights. But Obama is committed to an aggressive agenda in 2016 even as public attention shifts to the presidential election.
Obama spent much of his winter vacation out of the public eye, playing golf with friends and dining out with his family. He returned to the White House about noon Sunday.
"I am fired up for the year that stretches out before us. That's because of what we've accomplished together over the past seven," Obama said his weekly radio and Internet address.
While in Hawaii, he also worked on his final State of the Union address, scheduled for Jan. 12. The prime-time speech will give the president another chance to try to reassure the public about his national security stewardship after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.
Congressional Republicans have outlined a competing agenda for January, saying they will spend the first days of 2016 taking another crack at eliminating keys parts of the president's health insurance law and ending federal funding for Planned Parenthood. The legislation is unlikely to become law, but it is popular with the GOP base in an election year.
The debate about what Obama may do on gun violence already has spilled over into the presidential campaign.
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton has called for more aggressive executive actions on guns, and rival Bernie Sanders said he would support Obama's expected move.
The Vermont senator told ABC's "This Week" that he believes "there is a wide consensus" that "we should expand and strengthen the instant background check." He added: "I think that's what the president is trying to do and I think that will be the right thing to do."
Republican candidates largely oppose efforts to expand background checks or take other steps that curb access to guns.
"This president wants to act as if he is a king, as if he is a dictator," unable to persuade Congress and forcing an "illegal executive action" on the country, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told "Fox News Sunday."
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, also on Fox, said Obama's "first impulse is always to take rights away from law-abiding citizens, and it's wrong."
In the radio address, Obama said tens of thousands of people have died from gun violence since background check legislation stalled three years ago.
"Each time, we're told that commonsense reforms like background checks might not have stopped the last massacre, or the one before that, so we shouldn't do anything," Obama said. "We know that we can't stop every act of violence. But what if we tried to stop even one?"
Federally licensed gun sellers are required by law to seek criminal background checks before completing a sale. But gun control advocacy groups say some of the people who sell firearms at gun shows are not federally licensed, increasing the chance of sales to customers prohibited by law from purchasing guns.
Obama plans to participate in a town hall Thursday night at George Mason University in Virginia on reducing gun violence. The president will take questions from the audience at the event moderated by CNN's Anderson Cooper.
Despite his deep differences with Republicans, Obama has cited two agenda items for 2016 that have bipartisan support: a free trade agreement with 11 other nations called the Trans-Pacific Partnership and changes in the criminal justice system that would reduce incarceration rates for nonviolent offenders. He often points out that the U.S. accounts for 5 percent of the world's population and 25 percent of its inmates.

BREAKING: Cruz may drop out to become Trump’s VP

One America News, Washington Post, and Prntly have all discovered that Ted Cruz and Donald Trump have been in deep talks about Cruz being Donald Trump’s running mate . Cruz spared his rhetorical firepower against Trump, and Trump has not criticized the Texan senator at all.
Trump even hinted at selecting Ted Cruz to serve him as VP in his quest to Make America Great Again.
Voters are excited to hear this turn of events, as people have grown delighted.
EDIT: for the readers who say this is false, simply read the numerous news articles that state this, from Washington Times and One America News
From Washington Post:
The remark piqued the interest of tea party and conservative activists who had already theorized that recent moves by the two campaigns signaled a secret pact.
“It’s highly likely that there is a sweetheart deal there, and it is a very good thing with almost no downside,” said Tom O’Halloran, host of the Texas-based conservative webcast Patriot Radio Show, who subscribes to the theory of a secret Trump-Cruz ticket.
“It’s a brilliant move,” he said. “It sounds to me like a deal that was made in heaven.”
Mr. O’Halloran and other believers pointed to a purported secret meeting between Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz in Dallas at the end of the summer and the absence of attacks waged by the combative Mr. Trump against Mr. Cruz, the only major candidate to be spared Mr. Trump’s blisteringly personal attacks.
Mr. Cruz has mostly refrained from attacking any of his rivals in the crowded GOP field.
However, Mr. Cruz last month said that he was confident that he could beat Mr. Trump in the primary race.
“I don’t believe Donald is going to be the nominee, and I think, in time, the lion’s share of his supporters end up with us,” Mr. Cruz said in an interview on WABC Radio.
“If you look to the records of all the Republican candidates, there’s a big difference between my record and that of everyone else if you ask who has stood up to Washington,” he said. “I think his involvement has been tremendously helpful to my campaign, because it’s framed the central question of this primary.”
The detente between the two camps will be put to the test now that Mr. Cruz is surging in Iowa and within striking distance of Mr. Trump.

Donald Trump on 2016 Race: 'It's War'
by Ali Vitali
HILTON HEAD, S.C. — For Donald Trump, the 2016 election is a war - one he's not planning on losing.
Trump called rival candidates like Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush his "enemies" in the war for the White House on Wednesday. "We view this as a war," he told a packed house here. "Don't we view this as war? Right? It's war."
His latest battle is a war of words with Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton after she accused the real estate mogul of sexism. Trump has responded in recent days by rehashing former President Bill Clinton's infidelities and alleged sexual misconduct, as well as repeating his claim that "nobody respects women more than Donald Trump."
Trump, who has always had a nothing-off-limits approach to campaigning, called Bill Clinton one of the "greatest abusers in the world," cited "tremendous abuse of women," and elicited laughter from the crowd when he mentioned Hillary Clinton's "husband's situation."

Turning his focus on the actual candidate, Trump admitted that he'd "love, love, love having a woman president" but that it "can't be [Clinton], she's horrible" and "gives me a headache." He added that "women don't like Hillary," however NBC News/Wall Street Journal polling data shows Trump losing women 33 to 57 percent against Hillary Clinton. He does, however, win among men, 48 to 43 percent.
The Clinton's weren't the only candidates to draw Trump's ire. The GOP frontrunner punched back at one of his favorite and most consistent targets, Jeb Bush. Calling Bush out for low poll numbers, Trump wondered aloud if he didn't have anything better to do with his time. "He should go home and relax," Trump said. "He shouldn't be wasting his time."
But despite Bush's falling poll numbers and the acknowledgement by Trump that he should no longer focus his time or attacks on the former Florida governor, Trump can't seem to let his feud with Bush go. "I shouldn't even talk about him, he's down to two or three" Trump said, "but it bothers me when I see a guy spending $60 million on ads, against me a lot of it, right?"
And while Trump has in the past stated that our international community, specifically the Middle East, was better off with dictators like Saddam Hussein and Qaddafi in power, he went further Wednesday telling the South Carolina crowd that Hussein's methods, such as use of sarin gas, allowed for stabilization in the region. Remembering the constant back and forth between Iraq and Iran, Trump said: "They fight, that's what they do. They fight…and they were equal, militarily. They go this way, 10 feet, they go this way, 10 feet…then Saddam Hussein throws a little gas, everyone goes crazy oh he's using gas. They go back, forth, it's the same. And they were stabilized. And I said if you go after one or the other in this case Iraq you're going to destabilize the Middle East, that's what's going to happen."
As has become typical of Trump's rallies, he spent some time reading polls that show him ahead - admitting that if they turn negative he won't highlight or talk about them in the same way. For now, though, he's ahead but not taking any chances. Previewing increased spending and ads, Trump admitted that he's doing all he can to shore up the nomination as states prepare to vote.
And if Trump doesn't come out on top, he will have failed and wasted his time in the process. With a serious tone he declared to the crowd: "If I don't win, I will consider this - and I mean this - a total and complete waste of time."

ISRAEL TO DEPLOY ‘IRON BEAM,’ WORLD’S FIRST LASER-BASED AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM
JANUARY 11, 2015
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is expected to deploy the world’s first laser-based air defense system. The new system, known as “Iron Beam,” was developed by Israeli defense contractor Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd.
The weapon system will extend the ability of the IDF to protect Israeli civilians from Palestinian Hamas militants rocket attacks by using a laser to target and “bring down like flies” short-range rockets, artillery shells, and mortar bombs with trajectories too small for Israel’s famed Iron Dome anti-rocket batteries to engage and intercept effectively.
Both the Iron Dome interceptor and the new Iron Beam system are manufactured by the state-ownedRafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. in a project funded by the Israeli Ministry of Defense and extensively underwritten by the U.S.
According to the Daily Mail, Rafael officials said the new system was the result of five years of research and development in solid-state laser. It was enthusiastically touted by a spokesperson for Rafael, Amit Zimmer, as the real-life version of futuristic “Star Wars” technology.
“It’s very accurate and will help avoid collateral damage… When you use lasers, you have an unlimited magazine.”
Rafael’s Iron Beam Laser Air Defense System
But Israeli defense officials have consistently declined to give details about the time schedule for deployment of the new system, and how and where batteries would be deployed.
The Iron Beam air defense systemwill employ a “directed high energy” fiber optic laser beam to intercept rocket and missile threats with trajectories covering ranges of up to seven kilometers (4.5 miles). The laser system, cued by a mobile surveillance and tracking system, is able to destroy airborne targets within five seconds of firing.
Israel’s already deployed Iron Dome system, widely credited with 80 percent success rate against relatively long range rockets fired by Palestinian militants, employs radar-guided interceptor rockets, while the Iron Beam is designed to fire a laser that is capable of disabling warheads of missiles as small as artillery shells and mortar bombs. The system is also able to intercept small unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Iron Beam: How It Works
High energy laser weapons destroy targets by super-heating so that the target disintegrates in an instant, according to Rafael spokesperson, Zimmer.
“It’s exactly like what you see in Star Wars. You see the lasers go up so quickly like a flash and the target is finished.”
Rafael officials said the system has undergone extensive testing, and scored 90 percent success in destroying artillery shells and mortar bombs.
Although the Iron Beam system, first formally unveiled at the 2014 Singapore Air Show, can operate as a stand-alone system, it will be operated as the fifth layer or element of an integrated air defense system consisting of the Arrow II interceptor designed to shoot down ballistic missiles at atmospheric heights, advanced Arrow III rocket interceptors capable of intercepting ballistic missiles in space, and finally, the David’s Sling, designed to knock down large rockets and cruise missiles.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=REHt44BuASk
Rafael officials said last year that the system has undergone extensive testing, and demonstrated its ability to effectively engage artillery shells and mortar. They said the system will be modified to have multiple lasers that can be used to hit multiple targets independently.
Experts say that one of the major benefits of using directed high energy weapons, compared with radar-guided missile interceptors, such as the Iron Dome system, is that while they cost more to produce and deploy, they have lower life-cycle operational costs which offset production and deployment costs. They also have the advantage of not using expensive ammunition and lower manpower requirements.
The next few years will see dramatic developments in the weaponization of laser technology. Late last year, the U.S. Office of Naval Researchunveiled a prototype of its solid-state Laser Weapons System (LaWS) deployed aboard the USS Ponce in the Persian Gulf. It released footage showing the weapon’s infrared system being used against test targets on sea and in the air.
However, defense experts, such as Avnis Patel of the Royal United Services Institute, and Fanar Hadad, research fellow with the Middle East Institute in Singapore, said that although introduction of laser-based weaponry into the Israel’s air defense system will help to improve its effectiveness, it will not represent a drastic change in the already skewed balance of military power between Israel and its regional adversaries.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhsghwyt6gk
“Essentially, its military and tactical utility will be particularly useful in complementing the already proven Iron Dome system in tackling very short range threats such as rockets and mortar fire and in close quarter engagements.”
Hadad was particularly critical of the new system, saying that it reveals “Israeli paranoia” over the issue of national security in the Middle East.
“The development of another layer says more about Israeli paranoia. The possibility of a conventional attack against Israel is next to nil and there is hardly a need for five layers of missile defense systems.”
US Navy Laser Weapons System (LaWS)
However, such criticism overlooks the fact that the system is designed essentially to provide protection for the civilian populace during attacks, such as those launched from the Gaza Strip against civilian population centers by Palestinian Hamas militants. While the attacks have done little damage in terms of lives and property, they have inflicted considerable psychological stress on the civil populace.
The Israeli government is, of course, also anxious to assure prospective investors and Jewish immigrants of its ability to provide security. Besides, rendering rocket attacks by Palestinian militants ineffective could force them to give up such terror tactics altogether.

Check out my interview with Tom Sullivan (below), who filled in for Lou Dobbs on FOX Business Network this evening. We cover a lot of ground about Islam, jihad and why we must surveil and close jihad-inciting mosques.
Monitor the mosques. Close those that support and incite jihad terror. Demand enforcement of sedition laws against the preaching of jihad and Sharia. Look at the San Bernardino jihad massacre. The imam lied — he was close to the jihad killers, and he said he hardly knew them. Scores of phone messages. Were they incited to hatred and violence at his mosque? The mosque needs to be investigated.

In 1998, Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani,
a Sufi leader, visited 114 mosques in the United States. Then he gave testimony before a State Department Open Forum in January 1999, and asserted that 80% of American mosques taught the “extremist ideology.”
Then there was the Center for Religious Freedom’s 2005 study, and the Mapping Sharia Project’s 2008 study. Each independently showed that upwards of 80% of mosques in America were preaching hatred of Jews and Christians and the necessity ultimately to impose Islamic rule.
And in the summer of 2011 came another studyshowing that only 19% of mosques in U.S. don’tteach jihad violence and/or Islamic supremacism.
Garland shooter Ibrahim Simpson was active at the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix. The Tsarnaev brothers were active in the Islamic Society of Boston. The FBI is seriously delinquent in not examining what is taught in such mosques — and there are many others in the US with links to jihad terrorists.

OBAMA GOLFS WITH RADICAL ISLAMIST LEADER ON CHRISTMAS EVE - NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT | EXAMINER.COM

President Barack Obama's zealous pursuit of the perfect golf game has led to his latest challenger on a Hawaiian golf course during his Christmas holiday vacation. The nation's Commander in Chief teed-off on Christmas eve with the radical Islamist prime minister of Malaysia, who praised the actions of terrorist groups such the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for their victories. Obama's advisors have told the news media that President Obama is simply taking advantage of the "warm temperatures in Hawaii to hit the links," and his opponent is not a factor.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak joined the president, as well as White House aides Joe Paulsen and Mike Brush, for a round of golf that surprised some, but is expected by others who believe Obama has a soft-spot in his heart for Muslims, even radical ones. "Imagine the outcry if a Republican president played a round of golf with the leader of a nation that terrorizes homosexuals, oppresses women and supports terrorist organizations. It would be the lead story in every major news outlet," said former NYPD detective and member of a U.S. Marine intelligence unit, Sidney Franes.
According to news reports, the Malaysian prime minister had ordered his national police force in September to clamp down on protesters who were opposed to his Islamist government supporting ISIS and their countries slide into Shariah law. "My party members must emulate the bravery of a Middle Eastern militant group that defeated an Iraqi force outnumbering it nearly 30 to one if we (Malay Islamist party) are to survive," Najib Razak said during a formal dinner.
Obama has often displayed his enormous love for golf such as the time following the execution of an innocent American by Islamic terrorists viewed by millions on the Internet, Obama made a quick TV appearance and practically ran to his golf outing. "The president had be told that such an action looked unseemly at best, and utterly indefensible at worst, before the White House released a lame excuse for his conduct," said Mike Baker a political strategist and consultant.
While Obama has allowed openly homosexual men and women to serve in the U.S. military and applauds same-sex marriage laws, Prime Minister Razak's nation still punishes homosexuality according to the dictates of Shariah law. Malaysian law currently provides for public whippings and prison sentences up to 20-years for homosexual acts. According to the 2011 report on laws about homosexuality worldwide from the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, Malaysian law on homosexual activity is codified in Section 377 of its Penal Code.
Women are also treated as second-class citizens and are subjected to enormous cruelty should they merely be accused of adultery or fornication. "The fact that our president would play golf with the leader of such a repressive regime speaks volumes of his ignorance or arrogance. And yet he and his administration have repeatedly targeted U.S. police officers and intelligence officers for their vitriol. Yes, it speaks volumes of Barack Obama's [true] character," said Iris Aquino, a former police officer and a homeland security adviser.

Hate-Media Strikes Again: New Hampshire Paper Compares Donald Trump to Murderer
Carlos Osorio/AP Photo
by JOHN NOLTE28 Dec 2015358
“Meet the Press” spent an hour last monthcomparing Republicans to Nazis. CNN has compared us to anti-Semites refusing Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany. The Washington Post has likened
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
97%
’s 4 and 7 year-old daughters to monkeys. Apparently, that was just the warm up for a season of mainstream media demagoguery and hate speech because the New Hampshire Union Leader is now comparing Donald Trump to a murderer.
In an editorial published Sunday, publisher Joseph McQuaid writes, Trump “reminds us of the grownup bully ‘Biff’ in the ‘Back to the Future’ movie series.”
Everyone knows that the “grownup bully Biff” is a cold-blooded murderer who abuses women. When we meet the grownup Biff in “Back to the Future II ” he has already murdered the father of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and physically and mentally abuses Marty’s mother. Moreover, the “grownup bully Biff” then attempts to murder Marty.
The impotent rage of the elite media always reveals who these people really are: bigots, bullies, crybabies, and screamers — hate-filled demagogues of the first order.
The same mainstream media that scold the GOP and Trump over “rhetoric” is infinitely worse in that regard, and every other.

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump reacted to recent reports that Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) 86% may endorse Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% for president by saying Gowdy’s Benghazi hearings “were a disaster.”
“His hearings were a disaster. Everybody was looking forward to something that was going to be really productive,” Trump said Sunday morning on Fox & Friends. “And he didn’t win with those hearings. It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country.”
Trump was referring to Gowdy’s Benghazi committee hearing where Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton was questioned for 11 hours on her email scandal and the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans were killed.
“I mean, beyond Republicans, it was very bad for the country,” Trump stated. “So I hope he does a lot better for Marco than he did for the Benghazi hearings. Because they were not good. That was not a pretty picture.”
Gowdy, R-S.C., announced he is set to campaign with Rubio in Iowa, and he called Rubio a “rock-solid conservative.”
“I’ve been seeing on Twitter many, many people extremely angry about the whole thing. Because, you know, Marco’s been very strong for amnesty and very weak at the border. And a lot of people are very upset with Trey Gowdy for doing that,” Trump added.
Trump also retweeted various tweets where people bashed Gowdy. One person called Gowdy a “loser” and another person said Gowdy “let Hillary get away with murder.”

President Obama's five-day tour of Kenya and Ethiopia cost taxpayers $5.99 million in airfare alone and ties him for the most traveled president with Bill Clinton, according to a newNational Taxpayers Union Foundation analysis.
The report -- "Still Up in the Air: The Uncertain Costs of Presidential Travel Abroad" -- provided to Secrets shows that Obama and Clinton made 41 international trips by their seventh year as president. France and Mexico have been Obama's top destinations, with five visits each -- one more than his four visits to the troops in Afghanistan.
The taxpayer watchdog group determined that Obama's trip from Joint Base Andrews to Nairobi, Kenya, then to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia then home today has a total flight time of 29 hours.

The Air Force recently told Judicial Watch that it cost $206,337 an hour to fly Air Force One, putting the price just for Obama's jet at $5,983,773, said NTUF. Not included are the many millions more for lodging, security, communications and the prepositioning of cars, vans and aircraft for the president.
Study author and policy analyst Michael Tasselmyersaid, "While flight costs can be estimated, the rest of the expenses associated with travel, including security, lodging, food, and more, not just for the president and Air Force One, but additional staff and airplanes, remains opaque."
For example, Clinton once took over 500 staffers with him on a trip to China, but those costs were never made public.
Tasselmyer added: "Where in the world is Barack Obama remains the easy question, the difficult question for taxpayers is: What in the world is the cost of the travel?"
The USASpending.gov website, however, did reveal some expenditures:
